‘Kioma’ is a broadacre farming, cattle & sheep breeding / backgrounding enterprise in the Goondiwindi district. It is part of the privately owned pastoral business Aminya Pastoral, a forward thinking and progressive company with a strong focus on improving the ecological and environmental capacity of its land holdings whilst investing in staff, safety, and animal welfare.

A permanent full-time position has become available on ‘Kioma’, for a motivated and experienced Stationhand to join our team. We are seeking a positive and proactive all-rounder with proven experience in stock and/or farming enterprises. This position would suit a person interested in a long-term career in a mixed farming business and a passion to learn and expand your knowledge. ‘Kioma’ is a 15,000 hectare property, 80km from Goondiwindi and has a primary school right at the front gate.

The position will offer diversity across all enterprises and the successful applicant will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Machinery operation & maintenance skills including spraying and planting experience.
  • Excellent livestock handling skills with experience in Low Stress Stock handling.
  • General farm maintenance, mechanical, welding and fencing skills.
  • Ability to muster livestock using quad bikes and dogs.
  • A strong commitment to animal welfare.
  • A keen interest in soil health, biodiversity, and pasture management.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work unsupervised, and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to working safely in accordance with Aminya Pastoral’s WH&S policies, procedures, and Safe Ag System.
  • HC license or the ability and desire to upgrade.
  • Basic computer skills
