ADAM CLOTHIER
MINNIE DOWNS MANAGER
Background
Adam grew up in rural New South Wales and has built his career across diverse pastoral and trade industries, combining practical expertise with a genuine commitment to the land and livestock.
Adam began his career as a qualified electrician, working in both powerline construction and domestic installations, while simultaneously employed as a contractor in the agricultural business.
After several years of contract mustering and station work across northern New South Wales and southern Queensland, Adam stepped into more senior roles, including Head Stockman at Kalang Pastoral Company. In 2021, he joined Laglan Station, where he played a key role in daily operations, overseeing livestock handling, property maintenance, and capital improvement projects.
Adam brings a well-rounded and highly skilled approach to station leadership to Aminya Pastoral, with experience spanning cattle management, pasture monitoring, machinery operation, and animal husbandry.
Adam commenced as the manager of Minnie Downs in January 2025.
What is your passion in the industry?
“Working with cattle and seeing good results is definitely my passion.”
Growing up on his own family’s property, Adam learnt a great deal about working and handling cattle, the importance of good reproductive practices and the results of maintaining access to constant nutrition no matter what the season. Witnessing the herd improvement over years with changes in pasture management and reproductive strategies gave Adam a real enthusiasm to learn more about reproductive and nutritional values and the impact on productivity and improved outcomes.
One thing that really drives Adam is the satisfaction gained from seeing good results in any job on the property, from training weaners or a long day mustering to the quality product being loaded on the trucks.
The industry is forever evolving and Adam’s experience working across a range of different properties and operations has given him a broad range of skills and the drive to keep exploring and trying new practices to improve those skills and his understanding of the industry.
What makes you get out of bed every day?
Adam is motivated by a combination of factors: having a genuine passion and desire to make a difference and the opportunity to grow personally and professionally, but also his obligation and responsibility for the station.
Adam and his wife Bre have two sons, Carter (5) and Huxley (3), who already show an interest in the industry. Bre also grew up on a cattle property in western NSW, and her family have a passion for horse breeding and training as well as cattle production. She brings a great deal of knowledge and support to Aminya Pastoral.
“Minnie Downs provides a wonderful opportunity for our family to enjoy all aspects of station life and working in the agricultural industry.”
