OVERSEER
Due to an internal promotion, Aminya Pastoral has an exciting career opportunity to become part of our team as Overseer at Caledonia.
Caledonia is a cattle breeding property comprising 30,100ha, situated approximately 100km north of Aramac on the Torrens Creek Road. It is part of the privately owned Aminya Pastoral, a forward thinking and progressive family-owned company with a strong focus on regenerative agriculture and improving the ecological health of its holding, while investing in staff, WH&S and Animal Welfare.
This is a full- time position suited to a motivated, forward-thinking person looking to progress their career in the pastoral industry while being part of a dynamic and supportive team. Preference will be given to somebody with a passion for regenerative agriculture who is willing to adopt our solutions based, can-do culture.
This position offers long term career opportunities with potential for promotion within the pastoral group. Couples are welcome to apply with some casual work for partner available. No schooling is available.
The successful applicant would possess the following skills and knowledge:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the industry.
- Excellent livestock handling & husbandry skills with an emphasis on LSS.
- A strong interest in soil health, biodiversity and pasture management/budgeting.
- A commitment to animal welfare.
- Ability to work and plan independently while liaising closely with the offsite manager located at Albro, Clermont.
- A strong commitment to working safely in accordance with Aminya Pastoral’s WH&S policies.
- Basic computer skills and business fundamentals or willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong machinery operation and maintenance skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised or part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to other Aminya properties for work if required.
