Strathbogie Pastoral operates Beef cattle breeding / trading, Sheep trading and Fodder crop production on 7,400ha in the New England district, 45 km from Glen Innes and 13 km from the village of Emmaville. We have a commitment to improving soil health through grazing management and fodder crops.
Strathbogie is a part of the privately owned Aminya Pastoral Group, a forward thinking and progressive company with a strong focus on improving the ecological and environmental capacities of its holdings, whilst investing in staff, safety and animal welfare.
We have a permanent full-time position available for a motivated, forward-thinking station hand. Preference will be given but not limited to experienced persons who have livestock, machinery and general farm maintenance skills with a solutions based can do attitude.
The position offers long term opportunities within the business as well as the pastoral group.
Applicants will ideally have the following attributes, however applicants with the attitude and ability to upskill in these areas will be strongly considered:
- Excellent livestock handling and husbandry skills with an emphasis on Low Stress Stock handling.
- An interest in soil health, biodiversity and pasture management. We follow the Resource Consulting Services (RCS) principles and prioritise training and staff engagement in this area.
- A strong commitment to animal welfare.
- Ability to muster with UTVs and working dogs.
- Machinery operation and maintenance skills.
- General farm maintenance, welding and fencing skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work unsupervised or as part of a team.
- A commitment to working safely in accordance with Aminya Pastorals WH&S policies.
- Computer skills and the use of apps such as Maia, Farmbot, and Safe Ag Systems.
- An understanding of drones and their operation for spraying / spreading etc.

The salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Station meat is available, conditions apply.
Training and development opportunities will be offered to the successful applicant in the areas of livestock and dog handling, grazing management, new technology, RCS Grazing Clinics, first aid, and attending an annual all-property Staff Challenge.
